CARDS AGAINST RACISM
A simple card game to facilitate open and honest conversation with the goal of admitting to one’s own contribution to racism and debunk racist stereotypes.
STEP I
Each player gets a set of suspects, jobs and attributes.
STEP II
To start the game, one player reads one of the headline cards out loud, prompting everyone to create a suspect for the crime using the cards they have in secret.
STEP III
Suspects are revealed. Players get points based on how many cards they have that matches the ones of the headline reader.
This should trigger the conversation about how each person picked their cards, exposing their own beliefs about the racial stereotypes as well as the headline reader’s.
